Flower Identification by Kathie Livingston

This book features beautiful black & white photos of native species taken in Jimmy McClellan's garden in McClellanville, SC.

Baldwin:  "I was with my biologist daddy.  We were going forty miles an hour in the car.  He looked out the window and said, 'I can see five species of duck weed from here.  It was all pond scum.'"

McClellan:  "He had the right kind of eye.  The duck weed I have is a beauty.  In the fall it is an emerald green.  It glows.  Something new is out there every day.  If you look close enough, something new ever hour."

"The plant must be valued as a totally artistic and architectural structure." Karl Blossfeldt (1865-1932)
