Another exclusive Village Museum publication! This is Dr.Baker’s “Treatise on Congestive Fever”, submitted to the Dean and Faculty of the Medical College of the State of SC- his doctoral thesis- in 1847.
Dr. Baker moved his family to a cottage on the South Santee River in the 1850s.
One wonders if the mosquitoes were as prolific then as now...
